Eire, I was hoping we would just hang on to hillseeker and she could pull us up the hills so we can just enjoy the downhills |

It will be nice and sunny at last
Thursday 11°/ 24°
please set up the meeting point near to the city, it would be easier for me to reach it at the desired time, as I work on the other side of the lake.

we can always push the starting time 15 minutes back to accomodate a farther out starting point. It is light pretty late anyhow these days, when there is light.

Actually, I have been known to "push", at least verbally ("can't let a girl beat you up the hill", etc ). It only works as long as you stay within hearing distance of course!
I think it's time for a ride on the Silver Side of the lake. I'm sure we can find some good hills over here to keep you all occupied...
As for where to meet, I would vote for away from the city too, just for safety since it can be a high-traffic time. It doesn't take long to get to Thalwil - as little as 9 minutes by train from HB, or less than 30 minutes to bike (all flat - great warmup).
I'm thinking we could have a short, flat warmup from Thalwil by biking down Seestrasse to Oberrieden, and then starting to climb up to the "good stuff" from there...
And we could end the ride by coming back over Albis Pass - It's not bad coming from the other side even if there is still traffic heading home.
Of course I am open to suggestions...

I agree, I'd like to do a ride on my "golden" side of the lake
Like this also I can be sure the bike is is good working order, I had just re-setup all the cables but hadn't had the opportunity to test it because all this rain.

Cool, can you recommend an exact meeting place, Hotel Alexander or the Thalwil trainstation?

I have added the details above, if anyone wants to push it back the starting time 15 minutes let me know. I may be running a few minutes late myself as plan to do the warm up ride from Zurich.

Ok, I was thinking of a route something like this: Thurs Nite Group Ride
This is my first try using Bikely so I hope it makes sense. There were a couple paths on the map that it wouldn't let me include in the route so there might be slight differences.
Basically it is similar to the route you recently showed me, mblume, but without the Raten Pass climb (I know, the best part! but seemed too long for a weeknight). Approx. 67 km and 1412 elev gain - Definitely has some climbing in there! Maybe too much? (is it possible to have too much??) Since it's almost the longest day of the year for daylight maybe it's a nice way to celebrate it, by doing a big ride
Some of the roads from Hütten to Sihlbrugg I haven't done before (since that's the "Raten bypass" part), but I'm going to check them out now (all in the name of "research" ) and see how long it all takes...

Shall I say bring your lights just in case.
