How many of you in the Basel area have small children? Having trouble getting out of the house to meet other people?

In many places, you can find meet-ups for parents of smallchildren (Krabbelgruppen). Many of you who may have considered going to one might be put off by the language. We might have the solution.

Mrs Dodger recently found out that it is pretty easy to set up such a group. Don't know what it's like in Basel, but in Lörrach, all you need to do is rent a room at one of the various venues in town (family centre, church, etc.). It doesn't cost much, so if there are enough people interested, this could be a regular event.

We're trying to get an idea about numbers at the moment, so who would be interested?

We've just moved to Basel from Vienna (although I'm British...) and I have 2 kids (4 and 1). I'd love to meet up with the kids sometime and the Krabbelgruppe sounds great! The only thing is that I'm about to start work and will only be at home on Thursday and Friday... Is there a specific bit of the forum for the Basel area and parenting here?

There is no Basel-specific section of this forum, but there is a "Family matters" section.

At the moment we have not set anything up, we are just trying to get an idea on numbers so thanks for letting us know!
