You no longer have to live in Zurich or Basel to enjoy the social events that are organized through this forum, becuase we've now got something happening down in Lausanne! If you're living in Romandie (french-speaking Switzerland) then why not come out and meet some fellow forum members?
We'll be meeting at about 8:00pm on Wednesday, Jan 31st (2007) in the Pinte Besson bar, which is at Rue de l'Ale 4, in central Lausanne (
see map). It's a very short walk from the Flon metro station, or the Bel Air or Riponne bus stops, and Riponne would probably be the most convenient car park.
Based on a discussion that we've been having on another thread (
link to thread), it looks like several people are already planning to come. It would be nice to make this a regular or semi-regular event, but we'll obviously have to see how this one goes first.
The Pinte Besson bar should be ideal for meeting and having a chat because it is not too noisy and generally not very crowded. It has lots of character (I think that it must be the oldest bar in Lausanne), and has reasonable beer

and wine

prices (plus some pretty good Vaudoise food if you're hungry).
Although we've tried to organize something like this before in Lausanne with limited success (you can search the forum for "Lausanne drinks"), the growth in the number of people on this forum in the French-speaking part of the country, and particularly in Lausanne, who have shown interest in such an event over the past few months makes this instantiation look to be especially promising.
Obviously, EVERYONE is invited, they do not need to be members of this forum - please feel free to bring along partners, friends and colleagues.
