They've been working on the track for more than a week now. Someone has been taking some photos of the construction and has put them into a slideshow on YouTube:
Okay. Here's the dealio. (Or, at least, the latest version of the dealio.)
The track is complete, the ice is set, and this event has been confirmed a go for this weekend by the organisers, regardless of the weather.

Change of race time in event of warm weather In Thursday's 24 heures, the race organiser is quoted as saying that if it is really too warm on Saturday, the finals will be moved to earlier in the day. I have no idea how we're supposed to find out on Saturday if the races will be held in the evening or afternoon. I assume something will be posted on the official event website.
If you plan on coming on Saturday evening, I'd strongly recommend that you check the official website on Saturday to see if the event timing has changed. The forecast is calling for highs of 16°C, so it seems a change of race time is possible.
Want to meet up with fellow EF-ers? There are currently 30 RSVPs for this event, and I know quite a few people who are coming to watch in addition to those on the list. Given that they are anticipating 20,000 spectators, I think it's a bit unrealistic to think that a group of 40+ people can easily meet up and stay together. If the finals are a go for 19h00 on Saturday, I will near the main venue entrance (next to the Riponne Metro station) at 18h00. If you would like to join me there at that time, great, otherwise, you can safely assume that you're on your own. Look for the girl with very, very long red hair. I am 99% sure I'll be the only one around.
About the venue. The course runs from near the Chateau to Place de la Riponne. Accoring to the map, there is a main entrance near the Riponne metro station. Bevvies and WC facilites are in Riponne, and there are three jumbotron screens along the course was well.
Watching the races online
If you can't make it in person but are interested in watching, there will be a free live webcast of the event at freecaster.tv.
Let's all keep our fingers crossed for a few more days of cool weather!
