ok I have no clue how I've managed to create this thread - Just wanted to put the vent on the calender.

The guidelines do say that if you make an event, you should link it to the thread you make to discuss the event.

Many people weren't reading the instructions (first thread - "sticky" at the top of the events section) so I've just added software to automatically create a discussion thread when a calendar event is created, and vice versa.
