It is the one near the TCS camping on Chamerfussweg. By car you would enter from Chamerstrasse and go under the rail tracks. Walking from Zug past the Zugerbadi or past the FKK beach and then continue past the mill and then the flower field from cham.

I would love to be there, but that Sunday is my son's birthday party and I will be baking all day.

I would love to meet your dog though - he looks really cute.

Hey Terry- my husband will be there early cause the grills go away quick this time of of year. He also suggested that maybe a few of ya that are come to bring some wood/charcoal since it's not supplied.

Since coal / wood is a bit of a pain to manage by jet-pack, perhaps those coming in their car could fetch some along? I'm sure we'd all be happy to chip in together. I'd guess a 10kg bag would do for the whole afternoon?

I can grab the coals and lug them in the short distance on the train. SwissMs what time is SwissMr going along, I'll meet him at Schutzengel and head in the same time...?

He's biking there & picking up some wood at the gas station along the way. I'd say he'll be there for 9/9:30 am. PM me your number and I can text you when he heads out.

I don't want to hijack this thread but as the campsite is next door to the scenic BBQ area I thought I'd bump it up and let people know there are a few of us like, totally intent on er, camping.

Geddit?

See it as a warm-up to the main event: whisky, a fire, a star-filled sky, fish a-jumpin'...

There's already a big crowd for the BBQ itself and the RSVPs are looking good so far: c'mon you Maybes, give some commitment!

It's looking increasingly like people are up for some camping as well, if so then I'll maybe give the campsite a call just to make sure they aren't fully booked out for some random swiss jamboree or something...

Good idea Tezza, there was availability this morning but the camp site said there was a lot of interest recently, due to some expats barbecue thing.... it's rumoured to be huge, the camp site managers said....

Yes, even back in April the campsite manager said demand is high due to the exceptional appearance of Angelina Jolie, Kristen Scott-Thomas, that fit chick off BBC World News, Terry Hall, Natasha etc. etc, most of whom I've never heard of but apparently on teh interwebs they're players.

Glad to see the numbers rising

What... this has turned into a camp/hotelathon now, or is that purely optional? I don't want some Hostel-esque style situation where I wake up to find myself bound and gagged while Natasha holds a blowtorce to my face, laughing manically.

Hotels in Zug aren't so cheap...the Ibis in Baar is the cheapest I can think of at around 100chf and trains run to Baar fairly regularly - failing that, drunkards missing last trains from Zug run to Baar in about 20 minutes (or so I'm told)

Closest one to where the BBQ is, would be the "Quality Swisshotel"
