Our Lausanne social nights have continued to be a success, and we've even been attracting quite a few people from outside of the city. So, we had the idea to go visit Vevey for our next social night, home of Nestle and many ex-pats.

So, the time and day will stay the same: Wednesday (28.3.07) at 8pm, only the location changes. I don't know Vevey well, and I didn't write down which bars were suggested when we talked about this last week, so please respond to this with your suggestions about where we should all go. Obviously, somewhere within stumbling distance of the train station would be preferable.

Vevey is just a 15 minute train ride from Lausanne, and there are 3 or 4 trains per hour (SBB website). On Wednesday nights, the last train home is at 00:26, so getting there and back shouldn't take away too much drinking time.

If you are really against the idea of travelling to Vevey then we should be back in Lausanne two weeks later (mid-April).

Yep, a good night had by all, even if the turnout was a little smaller than usual. Charly's was a really nice place - somewhere to return to on a summer evening for sure.

Hope that everyone can make it to the next event in Lausanne in a couple of weeks.

Sorry I missed this - didn't see the thread, been busy.

Vevey is a nice place, mnet quite a few Nestle expats at a pub on Thursday. Will try to make it to the Lausanne night in a couple of weeks.

Hey, will we do something this week? It's my last week in a hotel (thank GOD) and I'm smack in the middle of town, so it's stumbling distance away from anywhere.

Just perhaps not Thurs or Sat, since I aim to spend some of the time at the Capt. Cook watching NZ get into the World Cup semis...

so why don't we all invade captain cook this time and watch the game

It's gone a bit the wrong way for NZ during their innings, but I'll be there, at least for a time, to see if we can knock Sri Lanka over.

Hope to see some others there! If not, we should get onto the next public meet soon.
