Hey all,
It's a new year, and lots of new opportunities to bring out your camera! This thread has been too quiet recently - let's kick things back into gear!
I'd like to go out regularly - every two weeks on a Saturday at 16:00 for example. Any suggestions on topics/locations/ideas?

At 16:00 these days you better take a couple flashes.

"For example" :-)
I just want to go out regularly and shoot - day and time negotiable!

Hi,
I would be interested in going out to shoot, to see some other interesting parts of the city, I seem to do a similar route most times I go out . Maybe a chance to get some tips from some of the more knowledgeable shooters too.

Anyone interested in doing a little photowalk during the week sometime? I can only do it during school hours, but I'd love to get together with some other amateur photographers to practice and hopefully improve!

To be honest the photoclub doesn't really exist at the moment, at least not as is did 3 years ago. Reasons: some people move on, some people get a new hobby, some people find it difficult to deal with the loss of somebody special and influencial in the photographic community of this forum. I fall into the latter category.
If somebody wishes, then please put up an event in the social events calendar for a photo meet. There's a good chance that a number of people will join, me included.

I haven't participated to any event, mostly because it is a bit far from Unterageri but there is a beginning to every thing (NB: not you have to try everything)
lets start it again | | The following 3 users would like to thank starDeMer for this useful post: | |

An event that will actually happen again this year will be The Sunset Cruise. It's always a popular event with at least twenty people attending. Probably at the end of June this year.

I'd get involved if something took place... But equally, I'm no pro, so I can't help people get setup or anything. It might just be nice if we made a theme of the week/ month and submitted pictures... maybe vote on what's nice? Just an idea... means travelling isn't mandatory.

I'll probably do a close up/macro event at the botannical gardens in Zurich May/June time when the flowers have popped and the bugs are buzzing |

Hi Slaphead
Give me a shout when you go for a bit of macro, need to get mine out, as did very little with it last year.
The next thing I have in my diary is GP10 at Mutschellen, which is a classic car/bike hill climb, 29 April. If anyone wants to join me, they will be welcome. THen is Hasenstrick classic car show of sorts. Basically a large group of cars, bikes tractors at the hotel car park in Hasenstrick. Usually quite fun to see. Others coming up are Bergrennen, Reitnau 01st July, Indiannapolis in Oerlikon, classic cars around the velodrome 24th July, Hunterfest airshow in St. Stephan 25th Aug, Speed weekend Hittnau 01/02 Sep and Axalp airshow 11/12 Oct for those that like a bit of mountain climbing.
I'm doing this lot plus a few airshows in UK, and will also do some trips up the mountains for scenery pics. I'm always happy for more company.
Anything else you can come up with, let me know. I'm happy to give anything a try, if I can fit it in around weekend motorcycle riding and work :-)

Something else people may enjoy going to for pictures, as these are always colourful is the Swiss Hot air balloon championships at Sitterdorf, 17-20 May. Link below shows launch times, either early morning or evening. I'm hoping they do a night burn at some point as well. http://www.ballonfrieden.ch/
I'll be going on 17th, as I have that day free, and work the others, but figured some may get together and pop over.
