Hey! Since you are right in the middle of Basel and Zurich, you can choose from them, or go to both

Next Basel meeting is tomorrow night and we will be practicing long exposure:
Basel Photoclub - Long Exposure Shoot

Next Zurich meeting is to look at Photographic Exhibition in Winterthur:
Photo Exhibition Winterthur

Thanks Begga for the information. I book the 16th of August to join you to visit the exhibition. Yeah I thought that Aarau was in the middle of nothing, in fact it's the centre of the German Switzerland!

Re: Zurich Photoclub

So the fireworks are Friday night? Taking pictures from Uetliberg sounds like a good idea, do you know what time the fireworks start? I'd definitely be interested in going

Re: Zurich Photoclub

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think only Basel has fireworks on Friday, most other cities have it on the 1st.

Re: Zurich Photoclub

I've checked around and from what I can tell Begga is correct -- there's no fireworks in Zurich today. Should be plenty of photo opportunities tomorrow though

Fireworks start when it gets dark/10pm-ish.

Re: Zurich Photoclub

Hey!

Just come across your thread, and it sounds exactly what I have been trying to look for. I am really keen to start learning some more about photography, don't have my own camera yet, well apart form a compact digital one. Just looking to learn more about the types of equipment out there, and chat to some guru's for advice really

Any meet ups soon, or links, or other websites you could forward me would be well appreciated

Cheers!
Aimee

Hey everyone im back now ill be out and about taking pics during the street parade. But dont think its wise to organise a specific event here. However later this week ill post a meet up spot for us all to have a drink during the parade. In the meantime if you have any suggested drinking holes we can meet at let me know.

Re: Zurich Photoclub

hi karl, welcome back. I expect drinking holes will be full on the weekend, and i also don't know that many drinking holes. We usually drink at Hooters. And unless we reserve something early we may not be able to find a seat. Weather is not that much cooperative either (rainy forecast??)

I will also be up and about this saturday, probably near burkliplatz, taking random pics.

Re: Zurich Photoclub

Based on past experience the bars just outside the central area aren't too full. I will be in Andorra sometime between 13 and 14 o'clock to loosen up and then again between 17 and 18 o'clock for a refill.

Re: Zurich Photoclub

Hi,

I might well come down to Zurich as it is great opportunity to take some great photos. I have not seen the Street Parade for more than 13 years !! Not a great fan of the "music" but it is a fantastic atmosphere.

So I might see you guys there in andora.

Have fun

Martin

I wouldn't worry. I don't have a spare battery and mine always seems good for well over 400 shots. Which will not need a spare card either
