There hasn't been much going on lately, and I'm not sure about the future. If you want to organize a photo walk in Basel, I'd happily join you though.

This was originally thought of as for getting hobbyist together and share our hobby together. For some reason a lot of people take this as a free photography course, and even sometimes are ungrateful for the free 'service' they get. That's not too motivating for the organizers tbh.

Same here. Bought an entry level DSLR, but let sitting there unused. I should go out more often to practice, seeing the places through different eyes.

I am also curious to know... Does it still exist???

To be honest it's kind of died I'm afraid. As Begga said earlier, it wasn't going to well recently and the three us who'd been running the events eventually stopped.

Perhaps give Glocals a try? Photography groups in Geneva and Lausanne are just getting started. The first meetup in Geneva this week had quite a turnout.

So why is dead? Are you bored from it (as organizers), or there was no participants??

Well, we had a great year when it was starting but then it was mainly myself, Butters and BaselLife that were keeping things going and we had some random people joining. It's kind of hard to run it like that, when people come one or two time because they haven't read the manual with their camera and want us to teach them how to use it and then don't come again. You see; we too want to enjoy these events and we too want to learn from others and share our hobby maybe on a little more advanced level.
So to be perfectly honest, for me it sounds more fun just to poke one of these photolovers I already know for going out and shoot whatever I feel like, instead of organize these events on EF.

If you want you can charge certain amount per month or per year. This is how other successful clubs in Basel do.

Personally I'm not too interested in that either. It was meant for hobbiest to get together and share a hobby and not a photo course.
