Are there no Liverpool fans in this forum???

I went to the Nelson for the first time to watch the FA cup final on saturday, but it was too busy for me. Great if you got there early though with easy access to the bar I should imagine. Impressive mount of genuine football supporters there.

I left and went to the Oliver Twist...where is seemed the bigger half of the pub was watching some South African rugby final

Never been to Nelson though... How's the atmosphere there?

I'll be off to a proper Manc pub to cheer on the mighty Milan with the rest of the patrons

Benitez better watch his back if Liverpool win it again. Alex Ferguson doesn't like managers in the English game who've won it more than him. Cloughie, Paisley... it was claimed they died from natural causes, but it's hard not to be suspicious of there having been a Scottish hand in their deaths...

so how is paddys when it comes to football?

i know about 10 people going to paddys and as many going to the nelson. i'll probably do the nelson if i can get there early enough

Yep, I know of peeps going to Paddy's, Nelson and the Lion, but i'm currently heading to the Nelson myself. Having said that, last time Liverpool won it I was in the Lion... maybe it's a lucky pub?

Not sure where I'm watching footie yet. Will miss 1st half as got German lesson and than am meeting up with some friends but we haven't decided on a venue yet.... Have been asked for suggestions and the Nelson has been mentioned but am unwilling to commit to a bar at the minute as some of my Italian mates will be supporting Milan so not sure where is best to take them!

Will be supporting Liverpool, mainly because I always "cheer on the english teams". I'll not be telling my sister or her fiancee (Evertonians who are going to be Milanese for the evening)

Will probably be in Mr Pickwicks in Zug, sorry...

My husband has just got on a fllight to Athens...talk about stressfull! He was meant to get the Basel/Luton flight last night and then get the Luton/Athens this morning. Unfortunately it was cancelled!! (it was like someone had died!)

After absolutely no sleep and being a true fan, he managed, I don't know how, to get a refund out of Easyjet and is now on his way to Athens courtesy of SwissAir and his credit card company! Obviously he won't be able to make the Nelson, but I may pop in to cheer them on!!

He must have got himself into a right state thinking he was going to miss it.

I hope there won't be too many trouble with my height (? - ought to mean I'm quite tall^^) cos last time I watched the semi final at the twist, and every minute sb told me to stand somewhere else cos he couldn't see anything =)

Oh my yes....this was the worst thing that could happen-ever! But I must say he was very calm (like that calm-before-the-storm bit) If however, Easyjet hadn't made a refund (remarkable) I am sure you would have heard the screaming

Anyway Praise the Lord he is now on his way to see his beloved 'Reds'! (some help from the Almightly might come in handy too!)

I'm not a Liverpool fan but will be cheering them on in a pub in London and really hope they do it. Good luck Liverpool (you may need it though)
