Foods of the World Shopping Tour

Meet at 10am sharp, at the station-end of platform 14.Zurich Main Train Station. I usually arrive between 9:30-9:45. We will meet roughly opposite the information desks (NOT the 'treffpunkt/clock' - it's too busy there at 10am and people have trouble finding each other in the crowd. PM me for my mobile telephone number so you can text or phone if there is any confusion.

Our tour takes around 2 hours, nothing too strenuous. We include the Asian, Thai, Mexican, Turkish and Indian supermarket/groceries. Oh, and bring enough money to cover if you want to do lunch afterwards...

Bring a shopping bag, enough cash to cover your purchases, and a wishlist. If the weather is poor please bring an umbrella or raincoat.

The tour is kid-friendly, although you might have trouble pushing a pram inside some of the smaller shops, someone will wait outside with the pram if necessary.

Just letting everyone know that the suggestion for the next 'shopping tour' is a day-trip to Colmar, France - I've put the details on the forum calendar for saturday 5th December...

Thanks for the fun shopping tour, Swisspea. The most useful store for me is the one in the Zurich HB. Missing a sense-of-direction chip when the good Lord created me, I'm not sure if I can find the other shops.

Anyone who has questions about curry cooking and making fried rice or fried noodles, do feel free to PM me.

Anyone looking for glutinous rice, it's in the Asian shop in the Zurich Hauptbahnhof.

Yes, thank you so much! The Chiang Mai Thai Shop on Josefstrasse 14 has excellent take out by the way (and cheap!). I think the Fried Rice was even better than Lilly's

Thanks for the great day out yesterday. We thoroughly enjoyed it.......but our first port of call after we left you was a bar.......so Stuart could have a 'sit down' as his feet/back were killing him! (No shopping stamina these guys!)

It was nice to meet so many new people, and we're definitely going to be coming to the Colmar day out.(I'll make sure HE'S got his comfy shoes on.)
