On October 24th, Saturday morning we will have our kick off for the winter season. That day will be an excellent time to come out, meet some new people, and try out our group. I will bring a training schedule and will be there to answer your questions.
The season starts with a 5 km run, and we will build from that to marathon distance. We do a run walk method that speeds recovery and helps to prevent injury. The training schedule is targeted for the Zurich Marathon on April 11, 2010. There are other great races in the spring as well, so you don't have to do that one. In fact, with our group, you don't have to do a marathon at all. There is no commitment and no fee... just come along for a run or two or more. If you
are thinking of a marathon, this group is a fun way to train for it. Over the last 2 years our group has had 10 first time marathoners, and we have a number of members that are returning for multiple seasons. If you can run 5 km today, you can run a marathon in the spring.
I hope to see you all on the October 24th, Saturday, 8:00 at the Horgen Main Station (in front of the Kiosk.) There is plenty of parking across the street and the trains run regularly from this station. If you have any questions, please let me know.
