| | | Re: Zurich Bar Recs for Weekend Drinks? | Quote: | | | | | I need recommendations again for this coming weekend's libations (vote here [Zurich] Official Drinks Night - Oct 30 or 31? to say which day it's going to be on). Did we hate Outback Lodge? Do we want some music? I think a fair amount of us (or was it just me?) liked to groove a little between drinks. Or do we want somewhere where we can talk and chill, like Corazon? Or do you want that Metal club on Langstrasse? Tell me, and I'll set it up again. If not, I get to choose. Who knows where that'll lead. | | | | | Attention, "Scotsman" in a different thread is launching something of the same pattern at the same time.

| | | Re: Zurich Bar Recs for Weekend Drinks? | Quote: | | | | | Nachtflug.
Pros: doesn't usually fill up, lots of space
Cons: not quite as easy to find | | | | | I always find it terribly congested Friday Saturday night but I generally don't get there till midnight when it can get quite hot in there. Service at bar can be slow, but hey we're talking Zürich. | Quote: | | | | | Almodo bar
Pros: ummm...
Cons: tables always seem to be booked. Bar staff are good but the place is very short staffed and you may need to wait a while. | | | | | Maybe it should be down as a pro if Sygirl can book two tables. The long ones by the door would be good. I don't mind it there, staff are okay once they get to know you, serves Bulmers, food is nice but a bit yuppyish, but hey we're talking Zürich. | Quote: | | | | | Andorra bar
Pros: good drink selection, cosy
Cons: may be a bit small, can get smokey, not much sitting area. Maybe try Corazon for some more space. | | | | | Serves home made chili till 2am on Thurs - Sat. I agree it's a bit smokey and pokey but hey we're talking Zürich. | Quote: | | | | | Cana bar:
Pros: easy-ish to find. Surreal DJ
Cons: not a huge bar.... 20 people could be a squeeze. Surreal DJ. Some of the patrons (and bar staff) can be a bit colourful... | | | | | Maybe Cyrus would be interested. Surreal in what way?
Not sure if I know this one. Is it Neiderdorf? Does Cana have a 'certain reputation' with some of the girls? Quite a few bars like that in town but hey we're talking Zürich.
Seeing as those place seem to be Niededorf, you could try a pub crawl.
I would suggest all the newbies meet first and get to meet each other before the old timers turn up so that no-one feels overly shy.
Then we all pile into a central location after.
The new guys cold congregate a Cranberry and girls at Eddie's Wine Stube!!
Cheers for the tips,
HB

It's not as though we're not a chatty bunch, and it's a very varied crowd. |

The Cranberries website is awesome though, i've never seen such happy looking men.

Higgy that sounds very Glocals | | | | | Nah, it's missing the private correspondence violation, IP trace and threatening phone calls (lamentably done to a professional recorded phone line).
Carry on.
