No different restaurant (in Basel this time), just the same name and owner.

The last one was listed on EF as the same name, because that was the name the last time I had visited (in Jan 2009) - in the mean time however we (I) found out that the place was had a new name and owner, but I was unable to edit the "event".

The logos/signs/menu look like they have moved from Lörrach to Basel - The owner is the same (Jaswinder Singh), I hope that the cooking standard is a good as it was previously at the Maharaja in Lorräch

Hope that helps

The 11 tram goes from SBB down to Schifflände and then follows Elsässerstrasse to the border with France. (This may help http://www.tnw.ch/content/fahrgastin...lan/stadt.aspx )

Re: Basel Curry 4th Nov

Hubby has schedule and I have sent a PM.

**crosses her fingers**

Meanwhile, I scoped out the way to get there, it is a couple of tram stops for me also but fairly near my place.

If you take the 11 tram until the "end" (it turns around to come back the other way), the restaurant is on the corner across from where the tram turns around.

About 20ft beyond that is the guard tower for the gate for France.

Re: Basel Curry 4th Nov

I have managed to increase the booking to 26 people. BUT, If you sign up please make sure you can come.
The owner is looking forward to welcoming us and remembers us from our previous visits to his last restaurant over in Germany . The menu looks really good - I have uploaded some camera phone shots of it here: Page 1 and Page 2

Yes I will by cycling (I cycle everywhere in all weathers - I don't have a tram pass ...), but this place is only just outside the town centre, so not planning to organise a ride - a trip into town after the meal for a beer or two however..

More space now available, and as Peg_A says this place is really easy to get to - it is literally the last address before the border guard having got the No 11 to the end stop "St Louis".

See you all on the 4th.

Pat

Oooh, and nosy me was wondering who was this other guest you were bringing but I was hesitant to ask.

Oh! For those of you thinking to come via bicycle, apparently it is supposed to rain until Friday so IF you're still doing the bicycle thing, you'll want to dress warmly and "waterproofly."

Silly me, I posted an answer but forgot to confirm, May I be Angela's 2nd guest?
Francesco, my colleague also wants to come, but it seems that we are 26 already... Can he still join us?
