Meeting Point: McGuiness Pub Basel
We are going to Basel for an evening of largin' it!

Meet in Zurich HB at the beginning of platform 11 at 18:20 with drinks/snacks for the train ride. I suggest second class because I'm a cheap bugger. We will take the 18.34, which gets us in at 19.38, and then head over to the McGuiness Pub to hook up with the Basel gang.

After that, we can play it by ear with the Basel peeps showing us their favourite watering holes.

It's up to each individual whether they get the last train back to Zurich, keep going until the morning trains start, or find somewhere to crash in Basel... My goal will be the middle option.

Apologies to those who can't make this date. We can do it again another time

no, we have a hotel booked until saturday.

I'll just go to the next one. I wouldn't give up a night in Budapest for that.

Just so people can get an idea of how late or early a night its going to be please see attached link with train times

Figured that for those of you that are party animals and want an all nighter then the 5:14am train may be a good bet as you don't have to change trains!!

I've just joined this site today as I am coming to work in Basel in the middle of June for a couple of months. I hope to be able to join one of your events sometime when I arrive. Apparently Basel can be a pretty lonely place when you don't know anyone.

Looking forward to meeting you guys over here in Basel!! It's a long weekend for us with Thursday and Friday off work, so that will be very nice....

Nice to see it'll be kicking off at my own favourite watering hole too.....

We'll definitely be there.

Have also asked if anything was going on that weekend, and it turns out it's party weekend! Whisky Still will be playing, as will the Sam Seale band. All proceeds from the weekend will be going to charity.

Damn you all. My non-drinking brother is here for that weekend so I will not be joining. I hope that you organise the return leg (i.e. Basel people visiting Zurich) soon so I can book a definate date in my diary.

Uhoh. Apparently Basel gets loads of time off this weekend for Ascension. Is this going to affect us? Will all of the pubs/clubs be empty and boring?

Hmmm, good point....Friday may also be a 'FOOOS' day. I'll ask Pat he knows what happens in Basel.

Just looked on the work calandar - Thursday is the official day off, for us we have 'bridge' days Wed & Fri so it looks like Friday will be OK - no FOOOS day.
