Zurich alt-stadt after-work drinks Friday night 14th, July

Ok, me and another newbie to Zurich, Yan Yan have decided to head out into Zurich alt-stadt for traditional after-work Friday night drinks. So both being new to town, where do you go for some good ambience, a few drinks, and a chance to meet other English-speakers?

No time was specified because most likely we will have to grab some dinner beforehand ...

I dunno if I'll be out tonight, but the Oliver Twist is probably the best 'English' pub in that part of town. The Bonnie Prince is OK too.

On the other side of the river, there's the Nelson which is all things to all people. And I guess Paddy O'Reillys (formerly the Dubliner) is worth a look too.

Hi guys! Since July 14th is still a week away, I´m not 100 % sure, but right now it looks like a good idea!

Always eager to meet new people and see new places!

How long do your "after work" drinking sessions usually last then?

See you,

If its an English after-work-drinks then the euphemism can mean an all-night drinking session, that simply starts after work rather than wasting valuable drinking time going home. Happens often in London. Wardrobe of clean shirts kept in the office.

I understand, however Riitta isn't British, hence my question ;-)

Anyway, where shall we meet?

What about Münz bar, just off Bahnhofstr? We can sit outside.

I can be there at 18.00. I've just changed my photo to one that looks more like me.

Cheers (hic),

Munz bar looks alright; I don't know if I will be able to get there by 6pm; but definately will be out. Let me get in touch with Yan Yan and then I will post again closer to Friday.

To all those attending the Friday drinks match.

While I can not attend in person I will be there in spirit, maybe Vodka , and perhaps start at 1330 my time to coincide with your start time.

Enjoy,

swisscheese

I'd rather start at 1330CET to exclude the amateurs.

Hi everyone,

Just to confirm that I'll definitely be there at six. Maybe with one or two not-yet-assimilated-into-englishforum friends.

I really do have a Trainspotting haircut at the moment, so look for a guy with very short red hair.

See you later,

Ok, looks Yan Yan and I will grab some dinner first prior to heading out; we will head out probably around 7pm; will head to Munz to look for the trainspotter prior to going to Oliver Twist. Just get in touch with me if you want to find the forumer's!

60 minutes and the sun'll be round on the terrace.
There's a few tables free right now
