Info regarding upcoming Aussie/Kiwi night in Bern.

Tried to do this last night but took too long and got logged out, didn't save it properly, so lost my post (as usual!)

Still works out better, got confused last night and now see I can just post this as a new thread, rather than try and use the social events organiser...

The English speaking club in Bern is open Thurs/Friday nights from 19:00- late.

If you log in to their website, www.englishclub.ch you will get all neccessary info on the place and how to get there.

June 1st, from 21:00 is another Aussie/Kiwi night. This is absolutely not exclusive,, everyone is welcome, it just gives us antipodeans a good reason (as if we needed reminding) to get together..

So if anyone is interested in getting a thrashing, -ahem- at pool, I'll be a taker.

If there are out of towners that would like to come along and need somewhere to doss down, just PM me.
So, under the theme of " give something else a miss" hope to meet ya there....

Re: Info regarding upcoming Aussie/Kiwi night in Bern.

Turns out I can't get to the Friday night Aussie/Kiwi night myself after all .

Still, would just like to remind any of you Ladies and Gentlemen, that Thurs/Fri nights from 17:00-circa 12:00 it's open in the English Speaking Club.

I'm sure they'd be glad to see you there and a good night may be had by all.

Perhaps I'll get to see some of you there another time. That'd be nice.....

Well, it was my first time, I went with hubby and some friends, and despite the low turnout it was a nice time and we will probably be back

P.S. re "Aussie/Kiwi night" theme -- I know very few Aussies willing to drink Fosters

Sounds good! Well, there were no Speights explicitly offered, would have been game to try I think the only Kiwi beer I've tried would have been Monteith's, if I recall correctly.

Oh, for a Little Creatures or a Rooftop Lager or a Beez Neez! (Mind you, you can get Coopers at Drinks of the World)

You've got me there on all but the Coopers,,, How bad is that!!! Really out of touch these days.

Heres a thought, if you are in the Bahnhof in Bern and have time, take a look upstairs (I think it's the elevator beside "McClean's"!!) there is a really good little booze outlet, that has beer/ wine and spirits, from all over the world. They might even have 'XXXX'

There,,,, that shows how out of date I am!!!

Uh oh, that'll teach me for shooting my mouth off,,, I'm pretty stink at poll really, 'fraid it'd be a real 'no contest'.... I like to play as it stops me getting too fidgity (or plonked!).

Still, if you are over this way and fancy a pushover game, let me know, I'll do my best.

Yeah, that would be "Drinks of the World" -- they've got Coopers, James Boag, Tooheys, Foster's and VB by way of Aussie beer. Luckily they don't have XXXX

I think the ones I mentioned are from little breweries in Western Australia anyway, so don't feel *too* out of touch

back!

Re: Info regarding upcoming Aussie/Kiwi night in Bern.

Hi guys,

Great that you are having a get together - but why is this posted as a discussion thread and not an actual event? Seems like it has a definite time and a place, so why not post it as an event?

Well I see the event is over - but just wanted to mention this in case it gets posted again in future. I spent a lot of time getting the whole events system working - is a shame to see it not used correctly.
