Ski Virgin-Group novice ski lesson- MON 8th Feb.

Ok, I have just returned from Tannenboden( below Flumserberg), lots of snow up there and I was enquiring about our group ski-ing. I almost secured a date by booking it for 5 of us, but it was too much of a risk.
She said MONDAY 8TH FEB is a good date, and we just need to turn up that morning and book ourselves in. Weekends are a no go.

So who is up for Monday 8th Feb 2010?

Here are a list interested up until now, but I need a final number now. :-)

Methods of transport to Flumserberg.

Train:
32.60 return ( with halb-tax), includes ski-lift. Zh Hbf to Ziegelbrucke, change and get Regionalbahn to Unterterzen.

Group travel: +10 people, we may be able to qualify for an " all-zone" return ticket ( halbtax, 12.70)

Renting a car through mobility:
Mini-van takes 7 people- 4.20Chf an hour.
Though I think there is a joining fee, reduced if the person signing up has a halb tax.

Equipment and price.
The prices of renting equipment for ski-ing: http://212.254.197.221:81/wb/pages/home/preisliste.php
Add whats required in the equipment area to 55chf, for a whole day lesson per person.

Suggest we meet for a coffee on Saturday 30th January, just to meet each other. ( offer also extended to non-ski virgins, who just fancy coffee)
Suggest: Starbucks Bahnhofstrasse between 8am and 9am ( I know its early, but I want to bag a table for all of us, plus it gives everyone time to amble off shopping afterwards) ;-)

Re: Ski Virgin-Group novice ski lesson- MON 8th Feb.

Thanks for posting/arranging this.I'd love to come along if I can make it.Haven't skiied for years.....and I MEAN years though, so I could provide the day's entertainment.

I'll speak to Mr.P tonight and see if he's up for it too. What time were you thinking of meeting up there, and is there a special time for the lesson to start?

Re: Ski Virgin-Group novice ski lesson- MON 8th Feb.

I'm not sure if we'll make it to the skiing.....MrP thinks he has meetings in Paris that week. (No competition really....skiing with me or whooping it up in Gay Paree!)

We will try to get along for the coffee though, if only to do some brain-picking as to where the least populated slopes are for our first falling-down session.

NB. The stupid name I chose is because we have a cat called Oscar. What's the old saying......'Choose a user-name in haste and repent at leisure.'

Re: Ski Virgin-Group novice ski lesson- MON 8th Feb.

deutschmaad you've gone to a lot of trouble to organise this and provide transport details etc. so I hope you get a decent turn out.

Maybe it's time to set it as a formal event rather than a poll so people can RSVP and you know where you are, and you can set the numbers, and it's easily visible as to who's going etc.... just a though, and have a excellent time, Flums during the week is a great place to learn.

Re: Ski Virgin-Group novice ski lesson- MON 8th Feb.

No just make sure you keep on top of it, and bump it periodically. Also maybe if the deal you've got is numbers dependant get a deposit from your attendees'and reconfirm about a week before.... good luck

Hi everyone,

I would be really interested in joining your group but I can't make the 8th as I am in the UK. I get back on the 20th so if anything is happening after that date, please let me know - I would love to join you!
