We'll have the first Lausanne EF social of the decade this Thursday, Jan. 7th, starting at 8pm, in Taco's.

The New Years resolution is to return to having the Lausanne social nights on a regular schedule, so expect them to be every second Thursday, on the weeks when there is not a Funny Laundry event (because many people attend both). Taco's seems to work best out of all the places that we've tried, so we'll keep it there for a while.

As always, everyone is welcome: new-comers and old-timers, plus partners, friends, colleagues, etc. Many people come on their own, so please don't be shy about approaching us. Most of the regulars who come don't use the RSVP function below (although it would be nice if they did), so you should expect there to be many more of us than the number of Yes's below.

Location of Taco's
The official address for Taco's is Rue de Genève 17, Lausanne in the Flon district (see this map), but the entrance is actually at the back, so you need to enter from Rue du Port Franc. You can identify the bar by its bright yellow canopy over the entrance. The bar itself is located two floors underground, so after you go in, just keep going downstairs until you find the bar area. The nearest public transport stops are Bel-Air for the buses or Flon for the Metro (which is one stop north of the main train station). From Bel-Air you'll need to take the lift/elevator down that is on top of the FNAC store or the nearby staircase down to Rue de Genève. There is a covered car park, "Parking du Centre", just to the east on Rue de Genève, and there is some on-street parking around (which is obviously not as secure).

How to locate us
Look around for the large group of English-speaking people; it will probably be us (if you come towards the start of the event then the group might not yet be so large, but will still be very friendly). We normally stand near the bar, but we sometimes wander off to the pool tables, and on very rare occasions have even been known to sit down!!!
