Hi, thanks to everyone who came last night to Starbucks,
Here are the final details for the trip:

1. Buy Train Ticket for Trip ahead of time. It's 32.60chf with halb-tax ( return)This gets us up the ski-lift at Unterterzen to Tannenboden, where we can book the day's lesson and rent gear.
2.Meet at 7am on platform 5.( I'll be in a pink ski jacket)
3.The train leaves at 07.12am. Arrive 08.16.

4.Allow around 100chf for renting gear if applicable. And some extra for lunch, unless bringing your own.
The whole-day lesson costs 56chf p/p.

5. Bring an Ausweis.

6. Lesson runs about 10am-12 then 2-4pm-ish.

deutschmaad just pinged me saying she'd got her train and ski-pass combined as the Snow N'Rail pass. You would pay 86.80 CHF, or 69.40 CHF with the Halbtax. More information available on the SBB site (Eng. Ver). And a bit more detail on the Swisstory site.

I a friendly get together of local snowhound, so don't be afraid to pitch up.

http://212.254.197.221:81/wb/pages/home/preisliste.php is the price list for the rental shop above the main ski pass desks/gondola. It's the closest, the busiest and the most expensive. If when you come out of the cable car from Unterterzen you look down the hill (the SSS ski school hut is down there anyway and another ticket stand on the snow on the right) to the left there is another rental place but the name escapes me. They are cheaper and not as busy, so maybe that would be a better location to rent.
