We will select the location on Friday. anything but Flums and Hoch Ybrig, but preference where we can take train directly to the slopes.
Initial thoughts - Andermatt or Klosters depending on the weather.

My vote would be Andermatt as I've not been there so would like to try it.
Was in Davos/Klosters last weekend.

Yep, Hoch Ybrig becomes too obvious choice as it is location frequented to practice. I think I know slopes by heart by now and can ride them even when it's dark
Planned to go to Braunwald or Stoos this weekend. Small resorts with 30-35km of pistes but perhaps others would opt for larger ski areas.
Arosa, Davos???

Picture was taken at about 10:30pm and the slopes were not lit. We also had about 15cm of fresh powder to track on the way down. Its all about powder nights. | | The following 2 users would like to thank Eire for this useful post:

Where's your stamina??? Its not all that difficult to combine treasure hunt, drinking and sport.... The last treasure hunt I managed to stay out late, be on the winning team (3rd time in a row ) AND... get up at 6am and do a 32k hike the next day (mind you I was so hungover that left the house without putting the insoles back in hiking boots - ouch!) |

| | | | | I did Stoos this saturday, and Braunwald on Sunday.
Stoos did not seem too good, but then again, the fog was so bad, I could not find the lift up, after i came down.
Stoos does have ca. 30 km, but they split in 2 areas, and I would estimate the 2 areas are ca. 500 meters apart. only 1 short blue, so not suitable for beginners
Braunwald was ca. same size, but you were not stuck with the same 2 lifts as in Stoos. There was more blue, but it was mostly red, and on the plan there was also a black, but it was closed when i got there. There was hardly anybody on the slopes. most people seemed to take the sleigh down instead. Definitely going to Braunwald again,
Im up for Braunwald, if my colleagues dont invite somewhere else.
Doc.

Besides, EF snow hounds are not adverse to all night partying and laying first tracks early the next a.m. | | The following 2 users would like to thank luminousmind08 for this useful post:

After you had hunted few treasures from previous day, puked your innards out and had refreshing coffee first thing in the morning... chase it all down with can of red bull so that you can tell the track number... for anything else... fresh air in the mountains will take care of the rest |

Hello EF snow hounds,
Early word on the weather from Swiss Alpine Adventure recommends Andermatt http://swissalpineadventure.blogspot...&max-results=5
This would meet our criteria as it is a short distance (under 2 hours). We would start in the Oberalp/Sedrun area which offers wide variety of terrain.
As we know, weather if fickle in this country, so I'll check again and post the final spot and send PM's by tomorrow night before 21:00.
Happy carving!

I reckon anywhere except H-yB and Engelberg type direction should have good sunshine. H-yB and Engelberg should have some sunshine with some clouds thrown in.
Anywhere in Graubunden should be good. Will check in more detail tonight though.
