Anyone in the Zug/Zurich area interested in a get-together for Burns Day tomorrow night?

That's a bit far away for me but thanks. I thought some of you would just like to meet for a drink somewhere because I think the Burns event at Piwi in Zug has already been held.

Although I won't be there, the Big Ben in niederdorf Zürich will almost certainly have something going on. The guy who runs it, although Swiss, is a great fan of Scotland, and has the entire pub themed that way. There'll almost certainly be pipers and haggis, not to mention a damned good selection of (expensive) whiskys, and a good few people in kilts who'll be be more than happy to have a proper scot there .

I could be tempted. I went round a few pubs in the Neiderdorf area last year, there were some good events in the Irish bars. Where would you want to go and what time?

Well that's yet to decide - Zurich or good old piwi in Zug even though there's nothing really going on tomorrow..

Tried to find something on the hp of the pub slaphead mentioned - but te latest event listed is Burns night 2009 LOL

Nice thread. I am going to the one in Bern tomorrow night at Mr Pickwicks. I called a few hours ago and it is going to be busy! Is anyone from here planning on coming along? It should be a great night - starts at six, main party begins around 7pm.

If you do come, introduce yourself! I will probably be the only Scottish girl there and I have a tartan scarf and a red skirt.

Colin didn't do anything this year - I think he had trouble getting a venue. He'll sell you some haggis though - see his advert on the commercial forum (and phoning him is better than sending a PM).

Oh yeah...and I was told that the haggis for the Bern Burns night tomorrow is from Scotland....they do sell haggis here in Switzerland but it isn't of the same quality...I can't imagine haggis being a popular choice here....or anywhere else for that matter. I love it.
