Luzern Fasnacht starts again this week, if you've never been, it's crazy and worth seeing at least once.

Parades, guggen music, drinking, partying, dancing, costumes and general mayhem are the order of the day.

It starts with a bang 5:00am Thursday, Friday through to Sunday are quiet nights, mostly private parties, kicking off again on the Monday and winding down Tuesday.

Wearing a costume is considered good form, but not required, the vast majority do elect to dress up.

The two wildest nights are the Thursday and the Monday. The town is generally jam packed, with bars and food stalls opening everywhere. Unter der Egg is a hotspot with outdoor discos, drummers, and all the guggen bands marching down the steps by the Rathaus, there's also lot's going on in the squares around old town with floats, plays and who knows what.

I tried to make an event, but couldn't see the option.
