Anyone else want to sign up. Will confirm details of first practice session (Bucheggplatz) when set.

Re: Thriller practice session

I would love to join you for this, but I have guests for the weekend, so can't make it. I used to teach dancing in the UK, so would have loved to learn the Thriller dance!! Maybe if you have a second practice session I'll be able to join in

Re: Thriller practice session

i would LOVE to do this....i already learnt the Thrill The World version last year (i should have been writing essays instead...oops)

i didn't read all the threads so sorry if you know this already...but "Thrill the World" is an (annual?) attempt at the Thriller dance simultaneously around the world - and they have great training videos on YouTube already.

the whole video is available here:

Re: Thriller practice session

OK. Room is booked in Kellersaal in Gemeindezentrum Zurich (at Bucheggplatz).

I'll post full address/directions later. We will meet at 3pm maybe practice till 6pm or people get bored then go for beers afterwards.

Bring refreshments and comfortable cloths/shoes (pref. non-marking).

For those wanting to get a head start - take a look at the thrill the world material, we will follow this as it's ready made and once the steps are learned, we can put together the final choreo.

The London underground one was absolutely brilliant! I would have been laughing my head off and cheering the dancers on instead of being stiff faced. Will you be doing something similar on Zurich transport system too?

Contact this guy and bring him over to Zurich

If enough people going to the practice are also going to Begga's house party then maybe there will already be an SBB version this Saturday! or at least a party on the train

Re: Thriller practice session

Hey guys, I'll be there and I'll be taking my cam with me, but I'm still too ill to do any real physical exercise. So will be there for support, video-recording and maybe maybe maybe just a few moves......... it's sooo tempting.

Re: Thriller practice session

When and Where

The first practice session will be on Saturday 27 March in Bucheggplatz Gemeindezentrum in the Kellersaal (see map below). Will start at 3pm and run till 6pm at the latest after which we can go for drinks/party.

Directions

You can get there using the number 11 or 15 trams.

When you arrive at Bucheggplatz, go up the spiral staircase onto the bridge and head onto the North-East arm. This branches to the left and right, take the left one and you get to a place with a few horses and stables.

Keep going until you get to the Kellersaal - it looks a bit like a garage (take a look at the map).

Re: Thriller practice session

Wow. What a fantastic sunny day. I got the room early so is now open. Entrance is on the south side of the building. Refwr to the google map as room is not easy to find! You need to walk through the cae park.

Thanks to all those who made it - you did great! I was impressed how quickly we went through the routines.

I'll post details of the next session once the room bookings are confirmed.
