I'd once again like to invite you all to the 3rd installment of Rob's Biweekly Drinks. :-)

The last occasion went very well with lots of new and old faces, and I took some photos of the crowd there, as well as the owner and barstaff of Oliver Twist - who haven't thrown my drunken self out yet! I was going to suggest a change of location this week for variation, but then I looked at the weather and realised it was best for the outdoors, and I don't know any other large expat-group suitable pubs with an outdoor area. I'd welcome any suggestions for the future.

By the way - checked out your photos, just have a tip for you. Check out this program, and this skin for it. You'll generate nice looking albums of your pissed mates in just a couple of minutes

Hi Mark. Thanks for setting englishforum.ch up. I've noticed the success of http://www.toytownmunich.com/ and this is very similar, but of course Munich has an absolutely huge expat community. Still, I think this site could be built up to be a great resource for english speaking expats. It certainly took me a while before I stumbled upon the Expats-In-Zurich yahoo mailing list. Perhaps we could add some pub and restaurant guides to this site, and enlist some willing members to visit and rate them over the coming months/years. Photo galleries and an events calendar could be useful too. Cheers! And c'mon, drop by the Twist on Thursday, just to say Hi.

Have you noticed the "Calendar" link on the toolbar at the top?

All these features can be added, I just need people to participate! I can make the technical parts available, but unfortunately the "community" has to make it happen (I can't do everything for a bunch of lazy expats!)

So far things have been going well. We had a lot of visitors initially, they just looked and didn't post anything. Maybe they'll come back later to see if anyone posts anything.

So in short what we need is people like you who want to help build it up! Spread the word!

Re the Twist, one day if I meet you I'll explain why I don't go there. If you pick a different venue next time, I'll see you then!
