Hasliberg is one of my favourite resorts, stunning area, bring a camera.
You'd be better off getting the same train but getting off at Brunig-Hasliberg, then taking the bus to Wassewendi/Twing (the bus is waiting at the station). It get's you there slightly quicker and you don't need to catch the cable car from Meiringen.
You also have the option of more ski outs on the way out.

Indeed, there is a faster connection to avoid the long cable car from Meiringen Alpbach and thus save queuing time instead. I couldn't remember them now, but I had considered them in the past. There are two other possibilities: Hasliberg Reuti or Hasliber Twing. I will edit alternative connections just now. It seems like option number three will cut it best.

bump bump.
Forecast looks great for tomorrow! 10 cm falling today, and Sun all day tomorrow!
When your grandkids are sitting on your knee, and they ask you about what you did Feb 27th, 2010, do you want to tell them "I decided to stay in and missed one of the best ski days of the year"?

Fabulous day ahead of us , time to undust sunglasses !
Hooray! Are you sure ther're no more takers?
Anyway, time to convert your MAYBE's into YES's or NO's. Happy skiing !
EDIT: As some people might stay up until late at night and I'm not an early bird either, the meeting point has changed. It is suggested, we'll see you on the slopes in "tbd" place.

If I was to drive from the metropolis that is Mettmenstetten (train is a nightmare S9 which connects to next to bugger all), what would be the best/optimum route. Via Michelin and Google maps seem to have a difference of opinion, and as my TT is still with someone else I'd have to rely on the Renault GPS, which is well..... French.
TIA

Papa G | | | | | I think you are well suited to get there. Head towards Luzern, Saarnen, Brunnig pass and just over the top of the pass turn left.

Hey guys, the participation rate was 5 out of 5 (sorry PG couldn't make it). It has been great day altogether and it was good to see new faces. The mountain offereds lots of surpsises to us today (especially once to our fabulous lady entertainer) but we managed to conquer our fears and skied under harsh weather conditions nonetheless. Clearly, we could handle even more therefore in spirit of sustaining this event, another one will be announced anytime soon (not next weekend though as I am off to Ischgl ). Thx again guys | | The following 2 users would like to thank jacek for this useful post: | |

I second that, thanks Jacek. Job well done and great to find a resort I would not have discovered on my own!
And many thanks to Luminousmind for getting me down that first evil run | | | | | My pleasure, you know how to pick a proper warm-up run | Quote: | | | | | Hey guys, the participation rate was 5 out of 5 (sorry PG couldn't make it). Thanks to Jacek for organising, and good to meet all you others.
Really good day out, though it was a shame some of the lifts closed early.

Really good day out, though it was a shame some of the lifts closed early. | | | | | It was good that we could synch at the end and find each other in one place. As my plan for Ischgl long weekend might go south due to lack of accommodation, I'm thinking about Melschee-Frutt as the next destination. I'm not quite sure though if there's gonna be enough snow down there given its loaction and height. Has anyone been there lately?
