Lunch in Altstetten?

Hi there...

First of all: I did not know where to put that thread, it doesn't rly fit anywhere =)
/admin: move it to wherever you think it fits best.

I think that there are some ppl here working in Altstetten... So I thought we could meet for lunch once... If there are some ppl who are interested in that, we can open a thread in the social events forum...

Re: Lunch in Altstetten?

it sure is =) I actually thought you could post only events that are already organised and have a "yes - maybe - no" poll with it... But if that works thats fine =)

So, altstetten ppl, come out, come out whereever you are! =)

Re: Lunch in Altstetten?

That's the difference between the "New Thread" and "New Event" that you'll find in the events forum

There's nothing stopping you putting a tag like (proposed) into the subject line, or even adding a poll to your thread to say something like "Who thinks and EF lunch in Altstetten would be a good idea?" Yes, No, Maybe. Remember to make a poll like that public so you can see who voted for what. That's a bit different to the RSVP system when you post an event.

Once you have enough interest, create an actual event, then paste a link to the event from your proposal thread and close it (or ask us to close it)

Hope it works out - there are a lot of people in Altstetten and a regular EF lunch event would be a great idea - maybe more people could start lunch events in their areas?

Re: Lunch in Altstetten?

Exactly what I thought... We could like fix one day per week to have lunch somewhere (location may change every week then^^)
... If there are enough ppl interested in that...

Re: Lunch in Altstetten?

next week is fine for me too... and so is anytime after 12 pm =)

I dont know where to meet. If anyone knows of a good restaurant make a suggestion =) However, I'd appreciate it if you don't choose a 100 Fr. lunch location, for I'm working on a temporary basis only and dont make 10grants per month

Re: Lunch in Altstetten?

where in altstetten do people work? because even within the same district distances could be too far to travel for just a lunch break..
well, i work at badenerstrasse 574 (tram stop kappelli - sp?)
we- at ubs- have a reasonably priced canteen (lunch menus including soup and side salad for 8.60chf to 12 chf max) - guests are welcome, however need to pay a bit more - but we can all get it on my name and you pay me back :-)
apart from the canteen there are many restaurants at the letzipark shopping mall.

Re: Lunch in Altstetten?

I just work on the other side of the railway then =) in the big, blue building =)

//Edit: Just found out there's 2 UBS in Altstetten =) Well, I work near the one at the station... Not the one you mean though =)

There are also 2 chinese restaurants right at the station, and a nice Italian one near Migros...

Re: Lunch in Altstetten?

i have been to one of the chinese one (tram stop freihofstrasse) and including drink it was close to 30 chf - to be fair, it was a huge portion but still for just a lunch a bit pricey for me...
the italian has delicious pizzas - price ok - however a reservation is a must, otherwise there is no way to get a table (pizza place called Züri Pizza)

Re: Lunch in Altstetten?

the 2 chinese at the railway station are reasonably priced (u dont get huge portions however) (around 20 Fr. I think, have only been to one of them)

Anyways, first of all, we need to get more ppl to join us =)

Lunch in Altstetten?

I might be able to join with my husband, it depends the day though. We live in Schlieren so we might be able to make it for a lunch before our late afternoon classes or on our way back from classes. My schedule changes a bit depending the week..

Since we are on a graduate school income, affordable/cheaper is better for us, and we don't know Altstetten very well so we would be coming one stop from the S-bahn. (closer to the train station works better for us)

Re: Lunch in Altstetten?

Hope I can join as well ... but I'm very often busy or travelling during lunch time. Anyway, I work at Badenerstrasse 600 (Tram Stop Kappelli). And no, I don't work for UBS (anymore) .
