Yet more wildlife, although this time of the tropical variety!

We're going to go to Papiliorama, the Swiss Tropical Gardens, near Kerzers west of Bern.



The train leaves Bahnhof SBB at 09:03, so we'll meet up in the main ticket hall at 08:30. We have to change twice and should arrive a bit before 11:00 at Kerzers Papiliorama station, right outside the entrence. The return train leaves at 14:07, two changes again and we'll get back to Basel just before 16:00.

According to sbb.ch the return training ticket is 68CHF (34CHF mit Halbtax) and entry to Papiliorama is 17CHF each (falling 14CHF if there's 10 or more of us).

I am very sorry to say that I will not be able to go this time as suddenly my camera is not working . I sent it to service center and don't think I will get it before this weekend. I will definately join next time. thank you

Oh that's a shame If it's only the lack of a camera that's stopping you, I have a spare one I could lend you if you like? I think I've even got some filters and a wide angle lens for it somewhere as well...

that's very nice of u !! In that case I would definatly love to go.which came u have ? I have nikkor lenses . If I go I will also bring one frnd of mine who just came to basel last week with me. please let me know which camera u can lend me. and if possible give me ur phone number ,so that I can contact u. No probs! I'm afraid it's not a very flash one, it's a Fuji Finepix S7000. It's a few years old now, but still works OK
It has a fixed lens, but I've found the wide angle lens I have for it which fits over the fixed lens with an adapter tube.

It's all bagged up and ready to go, it takes CF cards so if you've got any of these it might be worth bringing them along. It's got a 1GB card in it at the moment.

That's a shame. It actually takes pretty good pictures, and it shoots in RAW as well. It was what I was using when the photoclub first started.
I check this page again right before I leave, in case you change your mind.

OK guys, I'm calling this one. I've been loitering around the ticket hall with a largeish camera hanging round my neck for 40 minutes, the train's gone... and no-one's showen up!

So, event cancelled. Let's try again in a couple of weeks.

I'm so sorry that no one showed up for the trip! It sure sounded like a fantastic thing to do.

Unfortunately, the train ticket was the clincher for me...

Perhaps a trip could be organized with some drivers (and folks pitching in for gas expenses) instead?
