Location could be an issue, especially with you being in Basel and most of the peeps being in Zurich.

I was also wondering whether you could play cards in a bar. Is there a law on that (ie assuming it isn't for money), or is it down to the landlord?

Regarding playin in a bar..I'd really doubt if that'll be a good idea..

The other day I bought a nice 300chip poker set in Lindau for 50EUR, but I saw the same set discounted here for 50chf. Aluminium case, 11.5gr chips, 2 decks of cards, dealer button, etc. Everything you need.

I bought one of these at Toys R Us in Spreitenbach for CHF45.

Only shit thing about these sets are the plastic coated cards, they don't last long and are crap to shuffle. I am going to see if I can get hold of some COPAG full plastic cards in poker size.

If you find the good cards can you post the details please?

I got quality plastic coated cards with me.
As good as 'Kem cards'...quality !

All plastic coated paper cards are...sorry to say...crap. Painful to shuffle and they simply don't last like PVC cards.

Even better than COPAG, found where you can buy Naipes Fournier cards in Switzerland. They are pretty much the best PVC cards on the market. You can get them here in poker size.
