We used to go every two weeks, last summer, but weather has been terrible this year. There have been a few this year already. Next one is planned for 10th July. Itss a sunset cruise from Rapperswill to Zurich, takes about 3-4 hours in total.
Train from Zurich HB to Rapperswill then on the Boat back to Zurich. Usually gets in around 9pm.
Bananhead will post the details as im on Holiday until the 9th. | Quote: | | | | | Hey.. that be great. thanks for the invite. i'll keep my eyes open on the calendar . do you guys do this often? | | | | | | | This user would like to thank Karlnmik for this useful post:

Well you have a very good camera. I agree the lens makes a big difference though. But you should still be able to take a good photograph with the equipment you have. For portraits you can use either an 85mm F2,8 which is a very good lens, or a 50mm 1.8 sependant on your budget. For landscapes the 17-40f2.8 is very good , and if your budget can stretch to it go for the 16-35f2.8 Hope this helps. Otherwise you could join one of my photo classes.

K | | | | | Thanks for the info K but i'm not available to join course as i'm still doing my german course and for sure i dont have budget for it
My first choice will be for landscape but according to my budget the lens are rather pricey, so for a while i've been thinking to go for 50mm 1.8 for a start and skip the landscape for the moment.
hopefully have enough for it by end of the year |

No Problem with the course, im holding them throughout the year, and they get booked up pretty quickly. The 50mm lens is an ideal starting point. Try digitec.ch for a new one, they are cheaper than most places. Otherwise look for a secondhand one in places like photo ganz in Zurich.
good luck | Quote: | | | | | Thanks for the info K but i'm not available to join course as i'm still doing my german course and for sure i dont have budget for it

Hi sanbelina,
If it's any help, I have the Canon 50mm f1.8 and it's easily my favourite lens. It's really sharp and photos I take withnit are always some of my favourites. The fixed focal length makes you work harder for the shots, and for me it certAinly helped me improve my photography.

Here's the link for the photos I took with the 50mm; http://www.flickr.com/photos/butters...nef50mmf14usm/
Also, you thank (or groan) people using the buttons in the bottom right corner of each post. I think you have to have been registered a certain amount of time or something before they show up | | This user would like to thank Butters for this useful post:

Happy for the Zurich photowalk intrusion on the 10th, but still lets stick to the subject, our worldwide photowalk organised in Bern.
First thing I noticed that we don't have to meet on a specific time as it was at the beginning, so I moved it from 10 am to 16:45. I updated the route on the map and the points of interest, so all you have to do is to check this link and subscribe on Scott Kelby's worldwide photowalk website, on our Bern walk here.
The purpose of this walk is is none other than just having fun, make new friends, and the most important to share same passion in the most easy going way that can be, no matter what gear we use, how many classes we attend or we offer, beginners or pros. I think is always something new to learn for everybody and the best way is by doing. I am a self taught photographer myself and till now it worked perfect this way, I strongly believe that artists are driven to find their own voice, which includes some originality. One can be an artist with a point-and-shoot camera.
It's more about the expression and emotion and also about the relationship between the expression and emotion and the tools used. The tools themselves, I think, are less important in and of themselves. Often artists will create as well as capture. Not always. I have seen incredible artistic shots with a point and shoot camera but also many poor shots made with the best DSLRs on the market.
The art is in the artist and not the camera!!! The rest is just optional tools.
Looking forward to meet you all in Bern | | This user would like to thank AppleRed for this useful post:
