Buying fitness equipment in Geneva

Looking to buy a (affordable) yoga mat and a resistance band, and have no idea where to look!

Any advice?? Ideas on how much they would cost?

Manor

from Chf 19.-- to 40.-- for the mat, not sure about the band.

Thanks! Anywhere else that might be more affordable, like a discount sort of place?

and LOL to the you've been switzerlanded.

I tried looking at the website but was confused. Is it likely they'll have resistance bands as well?? Very eager to start working out again

Re: Buying fitness equipment in Geneva

it's not a very good website actually.. quite confusing..

the fitness section of Manor downtown is on the 4th or 5th floor and I'm pretty sure they'll have bands there.

there is also a shop at Balexert --- sportxx ---- that does fitness equip... assuming you dont have a car a couple of trams stop up there.

Re: Buying fitness equipment in Geneva

STILL looking for a good resistance band!

I went to sport xx, and they didn't have it. I ended up buying the one from Manor, but it is very weak- the box even advertises that it is for yoga, but I am looking for something stronger for toning.

Any other ideas???

Re: Buying fitness equipment in Geneva

Go to Ochsner Sports on Rue du Marché, down to the bottom floor and they have a whole selection of gym equipment.

Re: Buying fitness equipment in Geneva

Resistance bands come in different colours (which define the resistance level). The major brand is Thera-Band. Look at the colour chart for the stronger ones.

http://www.thera-band.com/store/prod...p?ProductID=26

You might want to print out the page before you go shopping. From memory, I think that Athleticum has a good selection.

If you are looking for something even stronger, you can go for tubing.

http://www.thera-band.com/store/prod...p?ProductID=27

The tubing is often sold with handles.

Thanks. Tubing is definitely what I was referring too. In the US we call them resistance bands. Printing it out is a good idea, considering how I don't speak French haha. Thanks!

edit: although unfortunately now I'm not finding it on the Athleticum website

Re: Buying fitness equipment in Geneva

This type of stuff would not be on their website as it is a niche product. You will need to go to the store. And my guess is that they will not have a large range of product. The other store to try would be a Sport XXX (Migros sports store).

If you are looking for something very specific, I would search and find a website then order the product (from either USA or UK for the English).

If you are looking for a very inexpensive foam mat (not pretty), they have some red ones (with the Interdiscount name on them) available from Interdiscount for about CHF 15 from memory. Will do the trick.

The thank you button is on the bottom right
