Chelsea did very well and as I said previously there is a new found belief in the team now.
However,
They really did ride their luck and Czech played exceptionally well.

I don't think they will hold out in the next leg but who knows.

Their defense was exceptional, considering Barca made 20 something attempts to goal. They were rarely in possession of the ball and made a goal with a lot of help from chance.

Czech is definitely one of the best. Not many would have made such a great job.

The most amazing match which Chelsea thoroughly deserved to win.
Playing with 10 men in the 2nd half when all they had to do was defend to win on aggregate, but then Torres sneaked a 2nd goal in at the last minute.
Brilliant!!

Re: Barca vs Chelsea Tonight

John Terry inadvertently won it for Chelsea - at the expense of missing the final.

If he hadn't got sent off, Chelsea would have been more open attacking, and would have been caught out by Barca - then it would have been a goal fest.

However, with Chelsea defending as they did, Barca just got more frustrated - just look at how Messi didn't perform.

What a pleasure to see Torres rubbing their noses in it at the end.

Just think of the years supply of `Humble Pie and maple syrup` "Miss-Nil".

Tis "a funny old game" as an x world class English forward once said.

Quite an amazing football match tonight.

I got the impression Barca were a wee bit jaded, not quite as sharp as they could of been, but even so they created enough chances to of won.I thought they could of hit the ball wide more often, but they seemed to insist on heading for the very congested area in the middle of the field, just outside the box.Not Messi`s night,as was the first game.

Chelsea basically carried on from the game in London, great shape, discipline (most of the time)and they fought like heroes.Drogba was excellent,Torres very cool to score their second etc.De Matteo was a clever player and it seems he`s got something about him as a Manager.

Tough on Barca, but if you enjoy over 70% possession and against ten men and still don`t win, well you`ve only got yourselves to blame.

England have not had a good European season,it was left to Chelsea to represent us and fair play to em,they`ve done that magnificently.

Come on you Blues for the final!

Oh for heaven's sake.

If a team playing as negatively as that "deserves to win", then we may as well all pack up and go home. I'm not a fan of either team but over both matches it was as plain as day who "deserved" to win.

I think the overall possession stats show Chelsea as having less than 20% of the possession. Factor in the missed penalty, the multiple times the woodwork saved Chelsea, the cynicism of Drogba in the first leg, Terry in the 2nd... need I go on?

Yep, Chelsea are through, and that's football -- but "deserved"??
