Football in the Basel area

Hello everyone,

I have had a good look through the existing threads about football practice but they all seem to be organised over a year ago and there is no indication if they are still going..

I am looking to join a team or a group of expats having a kick-about or organise one if there are plenty of willing people on here to participate.

I really miss playing football so if anyone could help with this that would be great.

Cheers,
Dan

Re: Football in the Basel area

We have a kick about every Sunday mate, behind Schutzenmattpark there are some rubber crumb pitches and grass ones, we are usually on the rubber crumb at 5pm.

Get yourself down.

I am also looking to play in the week, are there enough people out there who are also looking that we could arrange a night together?

Hi there,

I am new in Basel and I really miss playing football. I was wondering if the games are still going on and if you would mind if a woman would join.

Thanks!

Re: Football in the Basel area

The lads are away this weekend but if it's happening next week I'll post something up on here. As Biff said there is a girls rugby team who have a good side, I know a few of the players if you wanted introducing?

Cheers

To be honest mate we haven't played in a while, few of the lads work in Paddies and are too knackered after Saturday shift, and a few others play for a Sunday league team.

We need players for the sunday league team so PM if you're interested.

Re: Football in the Basel area

Ladies and Gents,

Our football team is on its winter break until March I think along with every other team. I am having a kick about with some mates this Sunday 25th at Schützenmattpark at 3pm.

We actually play straight behind Schutz park on the football fields, they are rubber crumb so trainers or mouldies are fine. It's normally a good little game depending on how many people turn up, send me a PM if you need more information or fancy it, otherwise just rock at 3pm and head over to the English and Irish lads.

Cheers

Re: Football in the Basel area

Hi Deya,

Yes we are still going its our first league game this Sunday. We actually have around 6 people on holiday and are extremely short of players for Sunday I think we have the bare 11.

If you wanted to come along you could possibly get yourself a game, otherwise we will be training next Thursday.

Drop me an email on danny_ftm@hotmail.com and I'll pass you on any details, it would really help the lads out if you could come down this weekend.
