Alpine Mountaineering

Looking to climb any of the easier Alpine routes in Swiss and need a mountaineering partner. Only a few weekends left in the season.

Re: Alpine Mountaineering

I might be up for something, my schedule for the coming weeks is pretty fuzzy though but I may be able to squeeze in some (additional) mountaineering missions. Do you have anything specific in mind? What level of difficulty were you thinking about? If we go for something relatively easy I might bring some friends along. I have most of the except for skis/snowshoes.

Re: Alpine Mountaineering

I was thinking of the Finsteraarhorn but it's about a 4 day round trip which is a bit long - maybe next season. There is a much easier one called the Oberaarhorn (3600m, grade PD, http://www.summitpost.org/oberaarhorn-3631m/373248) which is on the way to the Finseraarhorn. Its got a nice dry glacier approach and can be done in a weekend. There is a hut right at its base. The more the merrier - bring friends. If you have any other suggestions let me know. I was thinking next weekend?

Hmm, as I just finished exams, next weekend is sort of reserved for playing catch up with the things left behind in my life and getting drunk. Also the weekend after I have plans (I said my schedule was pretty busy), but the weekend after that might sound good?

Cool, no worries that weekend might work (15th - 16th Sept)? Enjoy relaxing and getting drunk. Will keep you posted.

Re: Alpine Mountaineering

I'm up for this weekend. Weather forecast seems really nice. I don't have a car but I have quite a lot of gear (including ropes), although my tent and sleeping pad is still "at home". What do you say?

Re: Alpine Mountaineering

Yarrr.

Anyone else? Next weekends are already sort of loaded with plans :/. Being a student I'm quite flexible to go out of down during the week though, if it makes it easier to find some time. We can also just go for that beer at some point and brag about the latest item in the gear collection, or something..
