Can anyone tell me exactly what I'm signing my kid up for? What would be the differences between Kinderturnen, Kunst turnen, Mädchenriege, and Geräteriege?

The first two: gymnastics for children, artistic gymnastics

I can also directly translate the words. I want to know what the classes actually are like and what would the difference be between them.

Kinderturnen is usually a fun, non-competitve to pretty much everything that involves gymnastics (ball games, gymnastics,...) for kids in kindergarten. Mädchenriege is about the same for girls 1st grade and up. Mädchenriege goes to several non-mandatory Jägerball-tournaments a year (at least they to where I live).

Kunstturnen and Geräteturnen focus more on the training in the respective disciplines (gymnastics on the ground in the first case I guess and gymnastics on all the equipment like the horse, rings, bars...) and usually the kids are expected to compete at least some times.
