Snow shoeing Central Switzerland

Hi everyone

Who is ready for a snowshoe tour in the Nidwalden - Engelberg area? Snow shoeing is great fun and a good alternative for this who aren't skiing or boarding.
Take a break from your daily live and enjoy the beautiness of swiss mountains. Doesn't matter if you are beginner or advanced snowshoe runner. Everyone is welcome

Ciao

Anro

Re: Snow shoeing Central Switzerland

Hi Anro, I would be interested, I have my own snow shoes but no buddies to go with! Let me know when you may be going, and I can see if I can join. I do not have a car, so if the meeting place is near a train station that would be handy.

Thanks

Chacharlee

Anro, I help to organise an outdoor group that has a growing number of snowshoers. Influencing the group to swing into Engelbergertal would not be a big effort. Have a look at https://www.facebook.com/groups/liftyourfeet/ and see if you think there is a fit.

Very good idea. By the way, Switzerland has a lot of nice mountains. So I'm keen to go for hike somewhere else. See you on FB.

Re: Snow shoeing Central Switzerland

I am not sure if I want to try to Snow Shoe or just wander on some groomed paths, but I have tomorrow (Tuesday Jan 6) free with no kids, no husband - all day. It is to be a beautiful sunny day and I want to jump a train early in the morning and arrive some place with high mountains full sun so I can walk, snow shoe - I don't care - for 2-3 hours and then return
at the end of the day. I don't know where to go - am in Basel, so thinking
Central Switzerland is most direct. Does anyone have a favorite trek that
would fit my day and is pretty straightforward so I don't get lost and confused, especially in such short notice.

Re: Snow shoeing Central Switzerland

Janice, there are well prepared routes around Stoos (http://www.morschach-stoos.ch/de/), Sattel (http://www.sattel-hochstuckli.ch/en/...terwandern.php), Mythen (http://www.mythenregion.ch/sommer/ga...er-mythen.html) or Rigi (http://www.rigi.ch/Adventures/Hiking). All should be pretty easy to find your way, and any dangers will be well communicated on the information boards.

Thanks Globalnomad. I have decided upon Sattel-hochstuckli.
The two wanderwegs described look perfect for my day out.
