Motorcycling in Neuchâtel

Hi all,

Next June I am moving to Neuchâtel and I am considering bringing my motorbike with me, at least during the summer months. Is there any riders' community around?

Cheers!

No, I haven't... and according to its IMDB rating I don't think it's worth a try

Undoubtedly - however the scenario of four middle-aged Sunday riders on their American oil drippers, donning leathers and going for a cruise is prevalent here - but in groups of many.

Can't specifically speak for Neuch., but such groups do exist. Biking is good here - if you're a noisy cruiser or knee down racer.
I personally normally just go alone - but I'm of a cynical disposition.

Re: Motorcycling in Neuchâtel

I live in Neuchatel and started using my bike here just two weeks ago, as it got a little warmer to ride. I haven't found a group yet to ride with but would be up for a ride anytime, especially in the summer. I've heard there is a group here on EF that gets together sometimes and goes on long rides but I haven't looked into it yet.
If there isn't a group in Neuchatel then maybe we can start one but I have a feeling there is one, just need to find them.

I will bring my bike (Aprilia Shiver) and keep it here until September or so, and then will take it back to Spain.

Next Sunday I'm travelling from Barcelona to Neuchâtel to bring my baby. In the following weekends maybe we can arrange a route

Don't make too much noise when you go past our house and pop in for a cuppa.

Re: Motorcycling in Neuchâtel

I got it safe and sound! Nevertheless, what a long journey... Thanks god that I didn't faint (almost all the trip at 32 ºC - wearing a leather suit for 8:30 hours)

@Odile: be relaxed, I'm not one of those that prefer making noise rather than riding fast! :P
Thank you very much for the invitation!!

Re: Motorcycling in Neuchâtel

As soon as the sun is out- we get 1000s past our door (well 500m so that's ok) on the way up the mountains and into France. Speedster knows where we are, lol- so you are welcome.

Re: Motorcycling in Neuchâtel

Odile, thanks for the invitation! Will definitely stop by to say hi.

@ElHefe: Glad you made it safely. It's indeed too hot to ride in a suit.

Re: Motorcycling in Neuchâtel

Hey speedster,

Do you want to burn some gasoline this afternoon or early evening? A short 1-1:30 hour tour will be enough to get started. Let me know your thoughts

Re: Motorcycling in Neuchâtel

ElHefe,

I just saw your message, sorry! Did you end up going on a ride?

I will PM you my number, it's a better way to get in touch. And let's get a coffee/beer some evening this week?

and one group with English speaking riders, is "EF swiss bikers" on facebook. but beside me, there is no "Neuchateloise" there.
