Basel Tennis Clubs

Hi everyone,

I am coming to live in Basel at the start of July, I was wondering if there are any good Basel tennis clubs I could join?
I am looking to play each week on a regular basis, must admit my skills are probably quite rusty after travelling for 7 months... but keen to start playing again...

thanks

Olly

Re: Basel Tennis Clubs

Hi,
I live in Basel and I play tennis too.
A lot of tennis centers require membership fees, really crazy.
So I go to Allschwil, not bad.
But the best is to go to Germany, in Wail Am Rhein, and save a lot of money.
I'm searching for a regular tennis player, quite good level, I play since 7 year quite intensively, but not since I was a child.
Well if you want to try to play together, ping me!
Ciao, Damiano

Re: Basel Tennis Clubs

Hi all, I'm also moving to Basel in July and would love to play tennis too .

I used to play tennis as a kid and then stopped for 10+ years plus due to a knee injury from a ski accident. I'm back to play now and feeling very confortable, but try to avoid hard surfaces cos they're not good for knees. I try to stick to clay where possible, or carpet if indoors.

Re: Basel Tennis Clubs

Great, we will have to organise a game then?

Grass or clay would be good, never played on clay..

Sure . I'll ping you once moved (8th July). Also, I'll be mostly working from home, so I'm flexible with time.

Re: Basel Tennis Clubs

I've just moved to Basel and am looking for the same thing. I won't be able to play until I import my tennis racket from London in July.

If anyone wants to play on a weekly basis, then I'm game. (Just to note; I'm a bit rusty, so beginner/intermediate I guess).

Re: Basel Tennis Clubs

I finally moved to Basel this week . If anyone's up for a game on Sunday, ping me. Dunno much about places around here, but I saw there's some clay courts in St Jakob complex? Anyone knows how the booking for that goes? They're next to the (awesome) outdoors pool centre.

Re: Basel Tennis Clubs

Hi,
I have a subscription in Margarethen courts, it costs 200chf from now to October, so it's very cheap for Swiss standards.

Pm me with your whatsapp number so we can arrange to play in the weekend (for me, it's more probable on Sunday).

Regards, Damiano

Re: Basel Tennis Clubs

Hi all,

I'm also looking for tennis partners since I moved to Basel in March. I believe my level is reasonable high, trained quite a lot as a teenager and tried to mantain the level throughout the time, however not on a pro-level

I'm available during the week (only late in the evening) and on the weekends.

Glad to join new people and have a nice tennis time!

Re: Basel Tennis Clubs

Damiano -
I also recently moved to Basel this past week and am looking for people to hit with on a regular basis. I currently live in Basel near Weil Am Rhein, but work in Basel with my main client being in Alschwil. Would love to meet someone I could hit with weekly or more that plays in leagues and tournaments.

If you want to hit, please send me an personal message and we can hook up with phone or text. Looking forward to talking to you.

Scott
