Oberiberg. About 45 minute drive from Zurich
Do they have a website? ...or somebody could point me on the map where exactly I should go? I would like to give it a try this weekend

Thanks!

Re: Sledging near Zurich

I can also recommend Oberiberg for sledding. Plenty of free parking. Best is if you go in the morning while the snow is still hard. Afternoons it turns into slush with the warm weather.

Slightly unfair groan there Webdev. Now I wish I hadn't bothered answering your multiple questions about train tickets.

Anyway. For the original poster, centre of Oberiberg, ski lift Roggenstock. Can't miss it. Did you manage to find it?

Re: Sledging near Zurich

I didn't read all the repies, so sorry if this is duplicated.

We go to Flums every other weekend or so and never pay. Keep going past the sledge hill and go to the meeting point 6 (2 ski stands past the pizzeria going up) and there is a huge hill there for sledding and a few smaller ones too. We enjoy it very much and spend the day up there and have lunch.

PM me if you have any questions.

Re: Sledging near Zurich

I am not sure, there is an intersport rental place there, the ski lift itself does't offer rentals. Its not an "official" sled trail, but its perfect for little ones. My son is 4 and loves it, and so do we :0)

You can get great deals right now though, worth the investment. One of the few free things to do here LOL

The top of the Zugerberg.
Just enough snow to keep a 3 year old happy on a sledge and Mom and Dad can walk in the snow before enjoying a wonderful fondue.
It's a great day out!

Re: Sledging near Zurich

Also looking for some recommendations for this coming weekend. I basically wish to fulfill as many of the following criteria as possible:
  • Within 1hr 30mins of Zürich
  • Sledge hire possible (different types of sledge a bonus)
  • Sledge only pistes (I don't want to share with skiiers/snowboarders!)
  • Family friendly (bonus if there are faster runs available)
  • Good access to start of the runs
  • Excellent views

I used to love going to Panoramawelt in Lungern before it got closed down it fulfilled all of the above!

What about Elm? Not sure about the several types of sledges or the several runs but I have been there countless times and love it http://www.sportbahnenelm.ch/winter-schlitteln.html

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll have to bear it in mind. How busy it is it at a weekend?

Other possibilities I was looking at were Melchsee-Frutt, Klewenalp , Illgau or Bogenfang.
