Looking for snowboarders

Hey

I'm Joe 38 years old and fairly new to Zurich, use to live n Lugano.

Anyway most of my friends who I board with live in Ticino and are not always available. So I am looking for some boarders to hit the local mountains. I am a high intermediate to advanced rider so I ask the same from you. Up for on the piste but usually prefer off piste. Don't really hit the park anymore but will ride any other part of the mountain.Have full safety avy gear and ask the same of my fellow off piste riders.

I can provide transportation.

Hope to hear from someone.

Thanks,
Joe

Anyone in Zürich want to go Snowboarding next week?

Hi there,

Is there anyone from Zürich that would like to go snowboarding next Tuesday?

I've been living in Zürich for almost 2 years and am ashamed to say I have yet to go snowboarding in the Swiss alps. So i also have no idea where the "good" moutains are. I'm a novice snowboarder so I would like to go with someone at the same level. I'm a Canadian (Vancouver) girl and would love to also meet more people from Zürich and potential snowboard buddies.

Thanks!

This website is pretty comprehensive for info about resorts etc.
http://snow.myswitzerland.com/snow_reports?lang=en

Just choose where you want to go from the list, you can then check the weather, ticket prices, ski map, snow conditions, lifts open etc.

They also have a smart phone app which comes in handy (search for swiss snow)

Weather doesn't look too great this weekend.

For Flumserberg, if you really want to enjoy the snowboarding there, try and book a day off during the week when the weather is good, you will have the whole slope to yourself. Weekends it tends to be jam packed as it's pretty much the closest big resort from Zuerich. And because of it's accessibility everyone is gonna be there! Good if you want to just sit at the restaurant with a few runs in between but not so great if you want to spend your time on the piste.

Re: Looking for snowboarders

I'm interested! I'm heading to Flumsberg next weekend (30, 01) with a friend from EF who loves powder / off piste too (but skier) so we could organise something then.

Alternatively, pretty much any other weekend apart from 7,8 Feb would be good for there or somewhere else. I will check out Flumsiberg this time and see how chaotic it is first hand and decide if I will go back ha-ha!

I'm 31, male, intermediate boarder.

Cheers

Re: Looking for snowboarders

It would seem because I replied to a couple of unique threads about snowboarding (one beginner, one advanced...), they've now been merged. Sorry!

Thanks for the info! Yeah I was hoping someone would be available to go on a weekday to avoid the crowds, before I start working next week!

Re: Looking for snowboarders

Hi guys!

I'm snowboarder... this weekend I'm off to Austria but maybe next weekend we could organise something. I usually ride in Hoch Ybrig, not big but with a large freeride area.

Re: Looking for snowboarders

A couple of friends and I might be heading to Flumserberg this saturday.
We're intermediate to advanced skiers / snowboarders and like to keep it on piste this time. So far there's three of us, so if anyone wants to join, let me know.

Re: Looking for snowboarders

I've been checking the weather all week, thinking about going.

It's not looking great, is your group still going?
