is there any good skiing in nearby france?

Hi,
the weather sucks, it has been raining last weekend a bit, and forecast doesn't look that good. Does anybody know about some place around Chamonix (or beyond the tunnel around Cormayeur/Aosta valley) that has nice powder for of piste or at least good piste skiing conditions? Looking for ward for next weekend...

Place that might be OK is Grand Montets, the upper part (2000-3300m), but not so sure about conditions. Another alternative is Verbier, but that's not so close.

Merci!
