climbing partner

Ladies and gentlemen,

I've recently moved to Zurich and looking for someone to do some indoor climbing with on a weekly basis!

Briefly about me: I did some climbing before, mainly to impress my ex-girlfriend. That worked fine, seeing that she's my ex now. While before I would do 5B/5C/6A and I'm confident to say that the level has decreased now. Something that has increased instead is my age (34) and something that has remained the same is my fear of heights. So if you're looking for a climbing buddy in, you're happy to have a beer or two after the session and you're happy to do this on a more or less regular session, let me know!

Cheers,
Roz

I wish you lived in Nyon. Although not sure where the nearest indoor climbing hall is here...

What do you mean by regular? Once in every one or two weeks or more often? Any particular place you'd go to?

My idea is once every week and I don't go anywhere yet as I don't have a climbing buddy and don't know of the places yet

We don't know, she may have been Isabelle Patissier.

Oh dear, I think I may be showing my age.

Re: climbing partner

Hello Theroz,

Have you found a partner yet ?

I'm about the same age as you are and i try to go regularly to Minimum where i have the yearly pass for bouldering for training during the week and during the weekend i'm always on the lookout for some wall climbing action either indoor but preferably outdoor.
My level is about 6b/6c indoor lead and about 6a outdoor.

By the way you did not precise whether you're top roping or leading ?

Assuming you know how to belay lead let me know if you want to go climbing. We could even go this afternoon if you're up for it.

The multiple options for climbing indoor are:
* Gaswerk in Schlieren: http://www.kletterzentrum.com/unser-...halle-gaswerk/
* Milandia close to Greiffensee: http://www.kletterzentrum.com/unser-...alle-milandia/
* Kraftreaktor in Lenzburg: http://www.kraftreaktor.ch/
* 6a+ a newish climbing gym close to Winterthur: http://www.sechsaplus.ch/
* Griffing in Uster (also pretty new): http://griffig.com/

The advantage of the last 3 ones is that they're significantly cheaper: 25-27CHF instead of 36CHF for Gaswerk/Milandia while still being big enough that you usually cannot do all the routes at your level in a single session.
While Gaswerk is probably the easiest by public transportation from Zurich, if one is driving, then they're all about the same distance away (30ish minutes)

I've never tried Kraftreaktor or Griffing yet but would be up for trying Griffing.

Hi Lecomte

Thanks for the link to the new halle in Uster. I would be keen to get there. I used to climb quite regularly at Milandia. Probably climbing 6a lead or top rope.

Re: climbing partner

Hi Guys,

Are any of you climbing at Griffig, Uster on regular basis? I want to get back into climbing, been there twice in the last week.
But also keen to back onto rock to. Climbing around 5c, 6a mark but do need to get climbing fit again, so keen to CLIMB!

Moved to CH in Feb 2014 from SA, so keen to network with some climbers in CH.

Keen to hear from any of you, Thanks

Re: climbing partner

Hey Guys, I'm looking for a partner to climb with in Zurich, but I'm based in Horgan.

Competent climber and belayer, have not climbed in a while, but can comfortably climb 6a lead.

Re: climbing partner

Hey

I should be free on Friday around that time, and happy to climb! I only have my harness and shoes however.

Anyway is there anyway to contact you? And is travel from Horgen easy enough as I have only just got here.

I would also be interested in joining, I haven't been climbing for a while due to an injury, but I really want to get back into it and need a climbing partner for that
