Titlis Cliff Walk

has anyone done the Titlis cliff walk before and if so, do you suggest any tips?

I am hoping to take my son up when he visits at the end of April.

I'm not sure what you're looking for, tip-wise. It's an exposed suspension bridge along the cliff face that you can walk across and back again at 3000m height (doesn't yet go anywhere at the other end). Personally I wouldn't dream of doing it, although the views are spectacular, but that's just cos walking across a non-solid platform with a drop of hundreds of metres makes my head spin.

To get to it it's a couple of hundred metres walk across the glacier, and there's also a chair lift you can go down (and back up) right next to the bridge. Don't forget to take a coat, hat and gloves.

If you do this, make sure you check webcam before going to see that the sky is clear. Titlis is prone to bad weather / wind up top which really kills the experience.

Re: Titlis Cliff Walk

I found it a bit disappointing, a lot less spectacular than what the photos on the Titlis website suggest. The bridge is actually relatively close up against the rock face, which decreases the sense of void underneath you, and the fact that it doesn't go anywhere makes it a bit pointless (Ace1, you seem to suggest that in the future it may lead to something else, which would definitely increase the interest). Lots of tourists taking selfies in the middle of the bridge and teenagers having fun making it sway. The views are great though, so overall it's worth doing.

The Trift suspension bridge is more impressive by far, but April is too early in the season to go there.

How old is your son? Titlis Cliff Walk is not that exciting.

+1 for trift brüke.

There is one cliff walk which opened recently. Looks better than Titlis cliff walk:
