Question for Cyclists - swiss cup?

Yesterday, as I was suffering up the climb of Sattellegg, I noted little red signs marking the kilometers to the summit. When I got to the top, I noticed a machine in which you could insert a card.

I thought I had memorized the website but seemed to have forgotten it in the enjoyment of the rest of my ride. I though the website was Swisscup.ch or somethink like that. But I can't find anything

Does anyone know what this all about?

If I follow this, they did seem to run a time trial on Sattelegg last year but still not sure that is the connection to the previous post.

Re: Question for Cyclists - swiss cup?

I've heard about one system called "Timtoo timing". I believe it works like this: You attach a chip to your bike, and sensors on certain climbs let you record your time. Of course, this is just like in an organized race, but the special thing about this is that the sensors are there permanently and you can go and do it at any time. I've never used it, and I'm a little vague on the details, but it sounds interesting. However, looking at the Timtoo timing website, it appears that they only have such set-ups in the French Alps and the French-speaking Swiss Alps. Therefore, maybe the setup you saw is a similar thing run by a different company.

Thanks, brilliant, that is it. I knew it was a rather generic name that was why I couldn't remember it. 38 minutes is pretty bloody fast.

I have heard Pascal Richard, the former pro, did it in 26 and change a few years back....for all who have not ridden this climb it is one of the best local (Zurich) climbs to test your fitness.

That is pretty fast, I guess if the pro's are doing Alpe Huez in 38 minutes or less, I can easily see Sattelegg in 26. I barely make it to Vorderthal in 26.

Agree it is a good local ride, one of the closer mountain passes to Zurich. And not too high so can be ridden early and late in the season.
