Re: golf course/lessons for beginners?

I took the foundation course at Migros Oetelfingen, but there is one in Zug (Holzheusern) as well. It was in German but seemed like most of the pros were from England so I don't think it would be a problem -- just call them. I took the written test in English as well. Good luck!

Re: golf course/lessons for beginners?

I did my beginners course at Migros Golf Park Oetelfingen and it really isn't anything you expect from a super market - been to many way more expensive golf courses around the world since but have not seen a better place for beginners anywhere:
- free training ground for putting
- lots of space in the driving range
- good practice grounds for short game
- a six hole "beginners" course with relatively short holes... and since it is explicitly for beginners do you not piss off the pros if you need a minute longer...

Can highly recommend it. Holzhaeusern is another Migros place and has an absolutely stunning location... but I think it's smaller than Oetelfingen when it comes to training facilities.

Both places had English native speakers as Pros.

thanks for the suggestions all.

I couldn't believe I had to pay in order to go onto the practice putting green in Switzerland. Glad to hear this is not common practice at all golf courses

It's actually common practice in big parts of Asia... being used to the Migros Golf Park was I quite surprised I had to pay to warm up with some putting elsewhere.
