Salsa courses

Hello guys,

I am wondering, does any of you takes or took salsa courses in Zürich area and can recommend or unrecommend any schools?

I was researching online a bit, but honestly without really taking few lesons in every school it would be very difficult to really compare.

I am more keen to courses in which practice and movement is prioretized over proper detailed technique. I.e. in the school I was the teacher was very focused on technique, which is good in some sense but in practice it turned on little action and movement and demotivation. In other place where I took salsa courses they just put the music and there was lots of action. Even if we did not look into detail to every little movement, at the end people were learning quite fast because of more practice and more motivation and fun.

Prices are also a matter...

Thank's!!

Re: Salsa courses

Hi Josep,

Funny you're saying that! I'm looking for the exact opposite, once you ace the technique, i feel i can do anything on the dancefloor.

Anyway, i'm looking for a salsa school similar to what you're describing, would you mind sharing its name?

Cheers,

Re: Salsa courses

My boyfriend and I had a trial of 4 private lessons in the school,we bought a voucher on the groupon and it was great. In the meantime they explained us the structure of the school and they have one of the greatest offers I have heard of. However we did not continue with them because we lived far but in a contrary case we would definitely have done it. They offer possibilities for practicing and you get bought courses and private lessons..
Good luck!

I can recommend Winni's SalsaPassion school. It is near HB in Zurich:
http://www.salsapassion.ch/e_workshop.html

She is Japanese teacher, speaking German and English (funny pronunciation), but she is very friendly and fun. I was doing 4-5 months of dancing (I am in the mid-proficiency level).

Also a friend of mine was going to Salsarica in the city centre, I have personally haven't tried it. It is a little bit cheaper than Winni. What i like about Winni's approach is that you change a partner every 10 minutes, so you will be dancing with many partners and understand better the feeling of the dance from it.
