Plactic surgery in CH

Does anybody have an experience with plastic surgery in Switzerland? After the birth of my third kid I am considering to do some renovation of my body. Not because I want to get something extraordinary - I just want to return what I have lost due to three pregnancies. What about the prices and service level? Any suggestions for the clinics in Valais? Would be very thankful for any information!

There's one in my street, it has been recommended by a colleague of mine.

Not sure what surgery you are exactly after but you can check what they can offer. They seem to have multiple practices around Switzerland

Re: Plactic surgery in CH

Switzerland is not a cheap country.

Cosmetic surgery, which is what you are looking for is certainly not essential (therefore not covered under normal health insurance) and is costly if done properly, so maybe best to look outside Switzerland?

If not try private cliniques in Zurich, but sit down when he tells you the price.

Your post reminded me of the scene in "Gone With the Wind" when Mammie is trying to squeeze Scarlett O'Hara into her corset and says "You done had a baby Miss Scarlett, and you ain't never going to be no eighteen and a half inches again. Never"!

Because we all know that, at that time and place in history, plastic surgery was widely available!

OP, I know someone who got a nose job done at this clinic in Montreux. She was happy with the results but it was not cheap, I think in the several thousands mark when you include multiple consultations pre-surgery, stay at the clinic, and follow ups.

As an aside, she asked me afterwards what I thought honestly, and honestly I told her she looked OK, but I thought she looked fine even before the surgery. Apparently my honest reply to an honest question was not well received, I got harshly rebuked and she told me that her nose had been a source of grief for her all her life and I had no right to judge her choice and it was none of my business. Of course I had said none of that, but OK, then don't ask my honest opinion.
Honestly, if someone was to ask me the same question again, I'd lie and say you look good even if I think otherwise.

Re: Plactic surgery in CH

Op, might be worth to look abroad like Spain for instance. I am one of those who believe that plastic surgery is there and if something really bother someone, why not? Personal choices and all that. Having said that, a bit of humor isn't a bad thing, I though John_H jokes was very funny. It was just that, a joke. Not a judgement.

Hope you'll find what you are looking for.

Re: Plactic surgery in CH

Thanks for Your responses!
As I mentioned I do not want anything like pumping myself with silicone, changing the shape of my ears or nose - it's not my case. Everything what I can do myself like sports, diet etc. to loose weight I do and will continue to do till I reach my goals. I must admit - nothing much left. But other things like huge stretchmarks, saggy skin etc. are without my control. I think that it is normal for a woman to wish to stay attractive for her partner. But I want to restore my self-confidence too. I would be ready to pay a bigger price for the possible quality that is why I am here asking for help and trying to figure out whether is it worth the money here in CH.
Great weekend to everyone!

I understand. And I think your request for info is completely legit. Just ignore the fun pokers if you don't feel like giggling, people are helpful here, will come with some links, I am sure.

I hope you also have a supportive partner who is making sure that after delivering his three wonderful children you feel like a goddess.

Re: Plactic surgery in CH

You need to check on this, but Switzerland may not have an accreditation system for cosmetic surgery, i.e., any practitioner can do cosmetic procedures. At one time, this was the case.

Now, given that it's a self pay market, private clinics are likely where the best providers are located. And it doesn't mean that there are unethical or incompetent providers....the system just requires research.

Re: Plactic surgery in CH

Everything is expensive here, including plastic surgery, but it's not insanely more than in comparable countries. I have many friends who have had minor to major surgeries here and in London, NY and LA and the amounts spent are not so far off.

I think the thing to remember is that we not judge one another. (or make jokes at the expense of others.) while I think we can all agree that it would be wonderful to live in a world where the media and society did not demand our perfection and self-objectification, this is our reality and we must each determine what is best for us and what makes feel good about living in our own skins.

Life is hard enough without the constant (and unfounded) judgement of others.

Best of luck to you.
