Re: Secondhand snowboards

HI there. Very few shops are specialised in selling second-hand boards. Your best bet is buying either last season's boards at a large discount from shops, or buy second-hand boards from rental stores.

I don't think many will be willing to ship to Bulgaria though.

One I used to visit is Surf City which is in Zug, a short train trip away. There is also Och sport in Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich.

Maybe the Zurich-based forumites will have other names.

Re: Secondhand snowboards

As Shorrick Mk2 said you will have a better chance with shops selling last year (and older) boards than second hand.

There is a place near Stauffacher on stauffacherstrasse (across from the park) near where tram 8 stops. The people working there are in ok to deal with when buying (German and some french, not english), but its not quite a 'service oriented' business - ie don't expect a smile if you want to return anything or if you need advice on what you want, but they sell unused previous year boards cheap, I got one for 225 which I have seen sold in shops for 550.

Another good option is the Migro budget board, I think its 300 and a good build, and looks super cool at the moment - even better if you could care less what the board looks like or are a sticker freak...

Also each year at Irchel there is a snowboard and ski sale supposedly for old and used stuff, there is lots of selection, but in my experience there is little cheap unless you get there *very* early.

Good luck and see you on the slopes!

Andrew

i'll sell my bataleon hero 161 after the season is over. if you have any interest, just send me a P.M. the board is only one season old and is an exceptional allround board for dudes who like doing parks and slope. the tool kicks ass! if you ask why i'm selling it, i'll get a new one.

Re: Secondhand snowboards

I don't know about board lengths, but I'm considering buying one. I'm 192cm (6'3) with small feet (UK 11 - 44/46?)

If anyone has any clobber going, please let me know.

Re: Secondhand snowboards

Check the Zurich Flohmarkt that Zombie pointed out (their website has a funky URL: http://www.webshopsystem.ch/cgi-bin/...0004/index.cgi)

Plenty of used boards dirt cheap. I'm picking one up myself Monday. If it turns out to be too bad...well, back luck, that's what I'll get for CHF80.

Re: Secondhand snowboards

To get a good judge of the board size for your height it should come to just below your nose. And also your feet should not overlap the board. I have a freeride board jsut for piste riding as you can run and jump if you think I am going in the pipe!!
