What scares you the most about the clip, becoming a human weapon or turning grey and bald?
See you on Sunday!

There appears to be a lot of punching and kicking but no defence...

Would like to join - was quite good at Judo (disclaimer: like 30 years ago!) - but unfortunately have family commitments at the w/end.

Good luck with keeping it going OP!

There's a lot of defense by punching, kicking, elbowing, kneeing and throwing...
The real peculiarity is the conditioning traininig, with practice you get used to stop low kicks with the shins and the high kicks with the elbows or inner foreharms...
However it's not reccomended to try to stop groin kicks with your nuts. They will never get conditioned enough :0

Yep - turning grey and bald would definitely be a bit of a downer

Re: Martial Arts, Self Defense in Riehen (Basel) - Open Air training mate wanted!

Weather Alert:
Unless it will start raining cats and dogs, I will be there at 3 pm.
A light rain is not an obstacle for a good training,
I will be monitoring the forum until 2.45 pm. Let me know if you really don't feel confortable with it.
Cheers
Andrea

Another very good session yesterday despite of the rain.
We actually found out that even under heavy rain, a woodden gazebo in the woods just behind the bus stop will guarantee a very cosy and dry location for training.
C'mon folks, get out of your sofas...

Ciao Andrea,

this is...Andrea. I was wondering if you're still meeting up with neofphyte and expert people alike for kickboxing training. I'd be a total beginner.
Let me know. Thanks.
A.

Re: Martial Arts, Self Defense in Riehen (Basel) - Open Air training mate wanted!

Hey, are you still meeting up for training? I did a few months of Muai Thai while living in the philippines and fell in love. Was looking for a place to start here, but not that easy to find. I live near Zurich, but am more than happy to commute to Basel to train. I'm only available on monday and tuesday, but would definitely be a permanent fixture on those days if you're still holding sessions. Let me know cheers!

It seems this thread is dead, but anyways, I am moving to Riehen next month and would like to get together to practice with mats and possibly do some sparring. Just send me a message if interested.
